Director of Security Integration Academy

The Security Integration Academy Director will be tasked with creating an education center for high school students and current employees of this fast growing technology organization. The Director will be responsible for overseeing the strategic development, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs aimed at enhancing the skills of the security systems workforce. This role requires a leader with a proven track record in designing curriculum content, coordinating classes, delivering instruction, tracking progress, training and development. They will possess extensive experience in the commercial construction industry, with a strong preference for a background in specialty trades. This person will lead a diverse team, working cross-functionally with various departments and external organizations to ensure the successful execution of the training initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a servant leader with a proven track record of collaborating with an Executive Leadership Team and a team of HR professionals. The position reports to the Head of People. This role is hybrid and located at the company's corporate offices in Houston, Texas.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Security Integration Academy, ensuring effective training programs in security systems and integration for employees across various departments.
  • Develop and implement training programs and curriculum tailored to the needs of commercial construction and specialty trades.
  • Hire, train, and manage a diverse team of trainers and instructors, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and external stakeholders to ensure training needs are met and programs align with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate training schedules, resources, and logistics, ensuring the smooth operation of all programs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, adjusting as necessary to improve outcomes.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in security integration to keep the training curriculum up to date.
  • Drive continuous improvement in training methodologies, utilizing both traditional and innovative learning tools.
  • Secure funding and create a detailed budget for the academy's setup and ongoing operations.
  • Seek accreditation from relevant bodies to ensure the academy can offer recognized certifications.
  • Develop a marketing strategy to attract students and promote the academy's programs.


Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in the commercial construction industry, with a preference for specialty trade experience.
  • Strong background in training and development, with experience in leading training schools or academies, preferably within large commercial construction or specialty trade contracting companies.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead diverse teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience or knowledge of the TalentLMS learning management software.
  • Experience in collaborating with various departments and external organizations to meet training objectives.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • A degree in construction management, education, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • In-depth knowledge of security systems, integration, and commercial construction processes is a plus.
