Design Engineer 

New Hudson, MI – Full Time

 

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in New Hudson, MI. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will focus on vehicle and product system design, developing components from concept through detailed drawings, often within motorsports or defense sectors.

 

This is a full-time position that is 3-6 months in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.


Duties:

  • Vehicle and Product System Design and Development.
  • System physics modeling and characterization.
  • CAD system and component concept development and packaging.
  • Application of linear-static Finite Element Analysis in design optimization.
  • Technical drawing generation.
  • Prepare and present project status reports.
  • Test design, development, and reporting (DVP&R).
  • Metal structures and systems.
  • Project support.
  • Support and resolve customer problems using mechanical, analytical, CAE and project management skills.
  • Prepare technical specifications.
  • Develop testing methods and procedures.
  • Support manufacturing by answering questions and responding to ECRs.


Requirements:

  • Experience in parametric 3D modeling and ASME Y14.5-Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Have great attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and pride in their work products.
  • Minimum 3yrs engineering employment experience.
  • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Creo CAD experience.
  • ANSYS/FEA tool experience.
  • Windchill product lifecycle management.
  • Drawing, Detailing & GD&T application.
  • Metal structures and systems; Sheetmetal, Structures.
  • Full Vehicle understanding and how systems interact with each other.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, team, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
