Engineering Technician 

Coal Valley, IL

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team for our customer's facility in Coal Valley, IL. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will perform instrumented tests using existing procedures to verify that machine performance meets the product specification. Support all product groups in the product verification and validation process.

 

This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization. 


Duties:

  • Set up tests, including fixtures, part modifications, required instrumentation, and overall configuration.
  • Execute tests using computer-controlled systems as well as mechanical control systems.
  • Collect and record data using both digital and analog measurement systems.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and technicians to communicate test progress, issues, and results.
  • Perform test teardown, cleanup, and equipment reset following completion.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, including experience with power tools and metalworking equipment.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work independently with general guidance from management and team members.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration systems and components.
  • Basic understanding of heat transfer.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and PLC programming.
