Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our customer’s team at their facility in Grafton, WI. As a member of the team, the selected candidate will be an experienced Model Maker who will play a crucial role in bringing designs from concept to reality. You will be responsible for assembling, troubleshooting and fixing errors of a prototype before it is presented to a client and goes into production. Successful candidates for this position will possess not only the required technical skills but also a strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Duties:

  • Utilize various types of machinery, materials, procedures and tools to complete prototypes within given deadlines.
  • Determine what materials and processes are needed to properly complete any given project and ensure the necessary materials are available for use.
  • Assemble kiosks or displays to completion including the installation of necessary hardware and IT components such as printers, monitors or scanners.
  • Connect and organize electrical wiring as needed to ensure proper functioning of kiosks and displays.
  • Perform inspections to ensure the product meets the job specifications and verify that all hardware and IT components work correctly.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions during the assembly process.
  • Package assembled kiosks securely for transportation.
  • Provide customer support for deployed kiosks and displays to ensure continued functionality.
  • Keep detailed records of the assembly process, including any modifications or adjustments made.
  • Coordinate outside vendors to obtain special hardware, procedures or services that may not be obtained in house.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs in the building such as painting, repairing drywall, building furniture, minor plumbing, changing light bulbs, etc.
  • Execute all necessary shipping and receiving duties such as loading and unloading trucks and signing for various deliveries.
  • Operate a forklift to maneuver supplies or products to desired locations.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Familiar with woodworking, metal fabrication, welding, thermo-forming plastics, and electrical concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and sketches.
  • Understand the design and functionality requirements of the kiosk from technical documents.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Think logically, evaluate information, and make sound decisions.
  • Present information in an effective manner in small groups to vendors, clients and other associates.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to convey ideas, problems and solutions in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Adapt to changing circumstances and problem solve when needed.
  • Safely operate shop power tools including but not limited to, table saw, drill press, router, jointer, planer, mill, hand drill, vacuum former, spot welder and paint sprayer.
  • Ability to mix color to match client specifications and apply quality finishes to a variety of materials.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in vocational skills.
  • Three to five years of related experience in woodworking, sheet metal fabrication, welding or CNC.
