Facilities Maintenance Manager

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our customer’s team at their facility in Eldridge, IA. As a member of the team, the selected candidate will be an experienced Facilities Manager who is responsible for leading our maintenance department in a high-precision Computer Numerical Control (CNC) manufacturing environment. This position includes responsibility for Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) compliance and initiatives, as well as oversight of building security, 5S program implementation, and servicing of buildings, grounds, network infrastructure, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities and CNC equipment maintenance, team leadership, and regulatory compliance.

Duties:

  • Recruit and hire, train, evaluate counsel technically, schedule, and discipline the employees reporting to this position.
  • Approve/recommend purchases of materials, supplies, services, and equipment related to safety and the operation of the company.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Comprehension of safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for CNC machines (e.g., lathes, mills, routers).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Maintain and improve uptime and reliability of all production equipment.
  • Manage CMMS system for tracking work orders, maintenance logs, and asset history.
  • Coordinate with production to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
  • Manage servicing and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and infrastructure.
  • Oversee building security systems and protocols.
  • Implement and sustain 5S workplace organization methodology.
  • Coordinate maintenance of network infrastructure and facility-wide equipment.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance repairmen and facility technicians.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Provide training on CNC maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
  • Develop departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and track data to drive decisions and action plans that align with business KPIs. 
  • Maintain adequate staffing and training/development to successfully support operations.
  • Develop and manage the facilities and maintenance department budget.
  • Source and manage external vendors for specialized repairs and services.
  • Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and consumables.
  • Administer EH&S programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), state and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Oversee hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal procedures.
  • Maintain documentation for environmental permits, inspections, and training records.
  • Lead safety training programs and promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering or related field.
  • Required 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Required 2+ years of EH&S oversight or equivalent training/certification (e.g., OSHA 30, NFPA 70E).
  • Strong knowledge of CNC Systems (Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated leadership.
  • Ability to motivate and manage reporting personnel, as well as work in a productive, cooperative manner with other company employees.
  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to simultaneously schedule and coordinate multiple tasks according to priority.
  • Ability to counsel on safe work practices and carry out safety procedures.


Preferred:

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration 30-Hour General Industry.
  • National Fire Protection Association 70E Electrical Safety.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Total Productive Maintenance Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
