Regional Sales Manager – Midwest
Territory: WI, MN, IL, IA, NE, IN, OH, MI, MO, KY
Location: Home-based | U.S. Headquarters: Charlotte, NC
Our client is a global manufacturer of high-precision gearboxes, serving OEMs and industrial customers across multiple industries. To support continued growth in the U.S. market, we are seeking a Regional Sales Manager – Midwest to drive sales, strengthen customer relationships, and expand market presence across a large, high-potential territory.
Position Overview
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing and growing sales within the assigned Midwest territory. This role requires a hands-on, technically savvy sales professional who excels at building long-term customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and collaborating closely with inside sales and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
· Territory Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and increase market share.
· Customer Relationship Management: Build strong, trusted relationships with key customers; understand application needs and deliver tailored solutions.
· Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new opportunities through prospecting, sales presentations, and closing new business.
· Internal Collaboration: Work closely with the Inside Sales team to support existing accounts and coordinate new projects for seamless customer execution.
· Market Intelligence: Track market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback; provide actionable insights to leadership.
· Product Expertise: Develop deep knowledge of the company’s precision gearbox portfolio and clearly communicate technical value propositions.
· Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare sales activity reports, forecasts, and territory performance updates for the Vice President of Sales.
· Travel: Extensive travel throughout the Midwest territory to visit customers, attend trade shows, and support business development initiatives.
Qualifications
· Experience:
o Minimum 2+ years of successful sales experience, ideally managing and growing a territory
o Background in industrial, manufacturing, motion control, automation, or engineered products strongly preferred
· Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred
· Skills & Competencies:
o Strong consultative sales and negotiation skills
o Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
o High level of independence, organization, and self-motivation
o Technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex, engineered solutions
· Travel Requirement:
o Willingness to travel up to 100% within the assigned territory
