Senior Controller: Pioneer the Future of Adventure

Imagine being at the helm of a groundbreaking venture, building something entirely new that blends the thrill of adventure with the peace of nature. As the Senior Controller for our new four-season adventure park, you won’t just be managing the numbers; you'll be the architect of our financial future. You'll spend your days crafting financial strategies and implementing cutting-edge systems that will bring this dream to life. This is your chance to merge your financial expertise with a genuine passion for building something from the ground up, all in the service of reconnecting people with the natural world and each other.

This position is located in the Sheridan, Indiana area. Relocation assistance can be discussed after roughly 6 months of employment.

Why This Opportunity Is Your Next Great Adventure:

  • Be a Founder, Not a Follower: You’ll have the rare and exciting opportunity to build a financial department from the ground up, shaping the systems and processes that will ensure the park's long-term success.
  • Mission-Driven Impact: Your work will directly support a mission that focuses on creating unforgettable, authentic experiences that promote well-being and a sense of connection.
  • Strategic Influence: This isn't just about managing ledgers. You'll be a key strategic partner to the leadership team, providing critical insights that guide decision-making and contribute directly to the park's profitability and growth.
  • Pioneer a New Industry: Get in on the ground floor of Indiana’s premier year-round nature adventure park—a unique, innovative concept that's changing the game.

What We're Looking For:

We need a proven financial leader with a strong background in:

  • Financial Expertise: Significant experience as a Controller or a similar leadership role, with a strong command of financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Something like this: We would expect that you've done something similar where you're building financial controls, systems, etc., from the ground up. This is a "greenfield" project and we would like to see that you have a "playbook" or experiences you could draw upon to establish things quickly.
  • System Implementation: You're a pro at setting up and optimizing financial systems and technology, with a preference for experience with Sage Intacct or NetSuite.
  • Strategic Leadership: You know how to develop and implement sound financial strategies, create robust internal controls, and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: You're a natural at collaborating with different teams and translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for business leaders.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, and a CPA is a plus. While experience in the entertainment, zoo, university, or real estate development sectors is ideal, we're open to alternative backgrounds if you can demonstrate a clear track record of success in similar roles.

What are you most excited about when it comes to the idea of building something new from scratch?
