The Clinical Account Manager role blends clinical expertise with strategic sales support, focusing on training, product adoption, and strengthening customer relationships across the U.S. Responsibilities include coordinating and leading product training sessions, supporting sales initiatives, delivering presentations and demonstrations, and driving customer engagement to expand program adoption. The position requires close collaboration with sales and marketing teams, as well as direct reporting to the Vice President of Global Sales. Candidates should bring strong clinical sales and surgical support experience, ideally within laparoscopic or surgical robotics markets, and a proven ability to advance innovative medical technologies. Success in this role will hinge on adaptability, cross-functional collaboration, and passion for improving surgical outcomes in a fast-paced, startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Build strong clinical expertise in minimally invasive surgery, robotics, and surgical workflows.
- Educate and train surgeons and staff to ensure safe, effective, and independent use of the technology.
- Provide ongoing case coverage, technical support, and troubleshooting in the operating room.
- Assess training effectiveness, gather feedback, and implement continuous improvements.
- Support system installations, logistics, and product updates to ensure seamless procedures.
- Drive adoption and utilization by expanding surgeon engagement, specialties, and clinical indications.
- Collaborate with hospital leaders and surgical teams to integrate technology into workflows.
- Manage account activities, including training, inventory, and coordination of daily procedural support.
- Address customer concerns promptly and communicate feedback to internal teams.
- Communicate clinical and economic value to drive interest and build the sales pipeline.
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to prospect, engage, and develop new customer relationships.
- Implement strategies to expand programs and grow market presence.
- Lead product demonstrations, evaluations, and site onboarding to secure approvals and drive sales.
- Execute sales plans to increase product utilization and surgical volume.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or science-related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in medical device sales or related fields.
- Must be located near a major US airport.
- Experience and interest in the laparoscopic and/or surgical robotics field, with a preference for background in soft tissue surgeries (general, gyn and urology).
- Significant experience in the operating room, supporting surgeons.
- Established network within regional and national US health systems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
- Capable of switching between strategic and tactical roles as needed.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
