Our client is on the forefront of spinal technology that is capitalizing on the “current and future” market trends of the industry. We are seeking an Executive Commercial Leader to continue to build, refine, and execute on this growth stories objectives. The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is responsible for the strategic direction, leadership, and execution of all commercial functions with our Client, including Sales, Marketing, Clinical Sales, and Medical Education. The CCO will drive the achievement of commercial objectives, establish a scalable and sustainable commercial infrastructure, and ensure strong cross-functional collaboration to optimize market penetration, clinical outcomes, and business growth. Sales leadership is the highest priority of this role, and the CCO is ultimately accountable for achieving U.S. revenue targets and building a high-performance sales organization that supports sustained growth.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all U.S. sales activities to achieve revenue targets and market share goals.
  • Build and scale a high-performing direct and distributor-based salesforce.
  • Oversee development and execution of sales plans, territory strategies, and performance tracking.
  • Provide direct leadership to Area Sales Directors (ASDs) and Clinical Sales teams.
  • Foster a results-driven sales culture emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and clinical excellence.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for company product lines and future launches, ensuring alignment across sales, marketing, and clinical functions.
  • Oversee marketing initiatives that elevate brand awareness and generate demand through targeted campaigns, product positioning, and KOL engagement.
  • Build and scale a best-in-class Medical Education platform to train healthcare professionals and support procedural adoption through labs, workshops, and peer-to-peer programs.
  • Integrate Clinical Sales Specialists into the commercial strategy to support field execution, ensure consistent messaging, and enhance customer experience.
  • Leverage clinical insights and procedure data to continuously refine strategy, improve outcomes, and inform product and training priorities.
  • Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and collaborate across departments to ensure cohesive strategy and execution.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning including market expansion, channel development, and customer segmentation.
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics across all commercial functions; lead regular business reviews and forecast meetings.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure commercial personnel operate in full compliance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and all applicable regulatory standards, including but not limited to FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485:2016.


Requirements

  • Previous experience managing a CRM system, including leveraging and proficiency around use cases.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in medical devices or healthcare, including significant commercial and cross-functional roles.
  • 10+ years in spinal implant sales management.
  • Proven success in scaling commercial organizations and launching disruptive medical technologies.
  • Strong background in Sales, Marketing, Clinical Sales, and Medical Education.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex commercial operations across multiple teams and functions.
  • Deep understanding of spine or orthopedic markets highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Minimum 40%+ travel to support sales team, clinical engagements, and educational programs.
  • In-depth understanding of FDA and ISO regulatory requirements in a QMS-compliant environment.
  • Strong understanding of the GPO and IDN contracting environment.
  • Computer proficiency with common software programs (e.g., Microsoft Suite).


 

Compensation: Competitive

Location: Remote, Near Major U.S. Airport

Travel Requirement: Minimum 40%+
