Job Summary

A full-time electrical engineer designs and oversees electrical power, lighting, and low-voltage systems for commercial, institutional, or industrial buildings. They work with architects, owners, and mechanical teams to create safe, code-compliant construction documents.


Key Responsibilities

  • System Design: Design low and medium voltage power distribution, emergency generators, UPS backup systems, and interior/exterior lighting.
  • Calculations & Studies: Perform electrical load calculations, short circuit studies, arc flash studies, and voltage drop analysis.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, and local building codes.
  • Software Drafting: Use AutoCAD and Revit MEP to build coordinated 3D models and blueprints.
  • Construction Administration: Review shop drawings, answer RFIs (Requests for Information), and conduct site visits during construction.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Experience: 5 to 8 years of MEP building systems design experience.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or Engineer-in-Training / EIT track).
  • Skills: Proficient in NEC codes, lighting calculation programs, and BIM/CAD
