Role Responsibilities:

As an electrical engineer you will be knowledgeable of systems design and communicate design concepts via sketches and renderings. In your role you will:

  • Perform electrical power design for variety of projects to include but not limited to: buildings and facilities, including hospitals, laboratories, high rise residential, hotel, educational facilities, office, media, and other commercial and institutional projects in compliance with National Electrical Codes and local municipality code updates
  • Incorporate design changes using AutoCAD and Revit software
  • Perform service load calculations and short circuit studies
  • Perform design calculations for power and lighting systems
  • Select and specify equipment including switchboards, transformers, panelboards, generators, ATS equipment, UPS modules, and batter inverters
  • Design performance criteria drawings for new and modified fire alarm systems
  • Design lighting control systems to requirements of individual state and local municipality energy codes
  • Meet project schedules and performing work with budgetary constraints
  • Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future or current projects
  • Review submittals and provide responses to Requests for Information
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering required; EIT and/or PE preferred


Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering; field experience a plus
  • Expert knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Knowledge of engineering drafting standards, electrical engineering standards, and other trades
  • Demonstrable understanding of construction process and interpretation of construction drawings
  • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
