The Water Resources group is seeking a Staff Engineer to be based out of the Philadelphia, PA office. This individual will serve a key function in the design and management of a broad range of projects for both our municipal and private sector clients. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help us shape the future of the region.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide project and task support for major engineering design projects including site layout, grading, drainage/storm sewer systems, stormwater management, erosion & sediment pollution control, traffic control, and related supporting disciplines.
  • Support tasks including preparation of site/civil engineering drawings, specifications and reports for projects.
  • Support tasks including preparation of permit packages and municipal land development applications for projects.
  • Lead/support fieldwork including but not limited to impermeable liner testing, soil infiltration testing, erosion and sediment control measures monitoring, and preparing site observation reports.
  • Support project management responsibilities including managing discrete technical tasks and adhering to task budgets and schedules.
  • Day-to-day project communication and coordination with co-workers, clients and other design consultants.

Essential Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is essential
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis/modeling preferred
  • Experience with municipal ordinances, PennDOT standards, PADEP standards, and Pennsylvania regulatory agency guidelines preferred
  • Experience integrating geospatial data/GIS in the infrastructure planning and design workflow is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Compensation

Compensation to be commensurate with experience.
