CIVIL ENGINEER -We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join a growing Landscape Architecture and Civil Engineering team serving both public and private clients. This position will support a variety of site development and civil engineering projects, with opportunities to work across grading, drainage, roadway, utilities, stormwater, and erosion and sedimentation control. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform civil engineering design and site development work for public and private projects.
- Develop grading, drainage, roadway, utility, and stormwater designs.
- Perform hydrology and hydraulics calculations and analysis.
- Assist with erosion and sedimentation control design.
- Prepare plans and technical documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Perform field tasks including soil testing, land surveying, and construction oversight as needed.
- Assist with permitting and coordination with municipalities and regulatory agencies.
- Support the design of septic systems, public sewer systems, and sewage pump stations.
- Coordinate with clients, municipalities, contractors, and other project team members.
- Prepare written reports, technical documentation, and project correspondence.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, landscape architects, and other professionals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field from an accredited four-year program.
- 3–5 years of civil engineering experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
- Experience with HydroCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of civil site design principles, including grading, drainage, roadway, utilities, erosion and sedimentation control, and hydrology/hydraulics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively with others.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
PREFERRED
- 2–3 years of practical civil engineering experience.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
- Experience designing septic systems, public sewer systems, and sewage pump stations.
- Experience with permitting and regulatory requirements.
- Massachusetts Soil Evaluator Certification.
- Experience with construction oversight, land surveying, and soil testing.
