Senior Mechanical Engineer



About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a collaborative and growing engineering team in Tampa, Florida. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to lead diverse and challenging building design projects while mentoring engineers and working alongside multidisciplinary teams.

As a senior leader, you will oversee projects from concept through construction, provide technical expertise, manage client relationships, and guide project teams to successful outcomes. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys leadership, project management, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.


Responsibilities


  • Lead mechanical engineering projects from initial concept through construction completion.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for mechanical system design.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and overall project execution.
  • Supervise and mentor engineering staff, supporting both technical development and career growth.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, plumbing, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Review engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and construction coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support business development efforts and contribute to the continued growth of the engineering team.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an architectural/engineering (A/E) consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing engineering projects from design through construction.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building systems and a solid understanding of related engineering disciplines.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
