Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural projects from pre-design through construction, coordinating consultants and internal team members throughout all phases.
- Prepare and oversee production of construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Coordinate and integrate consultant engineering disciplines into a cohesive architectural design.
- Assist in preparation of construction contracts and perform periodic on-site observations to monitor compliance with contract documents.
- Collaborate directly with clients to establish functional, spatial, and aesthetic requirements; develop design concepts, specifications, materials, colors, and equipment selections.
- Coordinate and attend meetings with consultants, planning and zoning officials, building officials, and health/safety authorities.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development.
- Produce and manage documentation required for permitting and construction.
- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to supporting architectural staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed Architect in the State of Michigan
- Approximately 8–10 years of professional experience across a variety of project types
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to work collaboratively
- Thorough working knowledge of:
- Building codes and zoning ordinances
- Sustainable design practices
- Contract administration and office procedures
- Core building systems (architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical)
- Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and remain organized in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capability
- Proficiency with 3D modeling, presentation, and design software, including:
- Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, Lumion, BIM platforms
