PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES

This Mechanical Project Engineer position manages, designs and drafts detailed construction drawings, sketches and revisions per architectural backgrounds for mechanical engineering systems.

  • Designs for Central plants, Chiller Replacements/Cooling Tower Replacements, Mechanical Air-Conditioning and Distribution Systems, Exhaust/Ventilation, Life Safety Systems, Critical Environmental Control, Energy/Building Management, Plumbing
  • Provide Construction Documents for Design-Bid and Design-Build Approaches
  • Complete Due Diligence Evaluations of Existing Building Systems
  • Provide Energy Studies and Life Cycle Evaluations
  • Design for LEED Certification
  • Construction Cost Estimating
  • Provide Energy Audits
  • Assist with Proposals on System Descriptions, Diagrams, and Calculations
  • Identify Value Engineering Concepts and Options for Savings
  • Interpret Codes
  • Coordinate in-house Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services
  • Coordinate with Utility Companies/Agencies having Jurisdiction
  • Conduct Construction Observation and Administration
  • Commission the Systems (for LEED Certification)
  • Mechanical Air-Conditioning and Distribution Systems
  • Exhaust/Ventilation
  • Life Safety Systems
  • Critical Environmental Control
  • LEED Certification Procedures/Design
  • Energy/Building Management

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university (preferred - not required)
  • 3+ years of mechanical design experience in consulting engineering
  • Proficient in use of AutoCAD and REVIT MEP
  • Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality of work
  • Self-manager to accomplish multiple project responsibilities
  • Continuous practice of personal accountability and desire to improve
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
