Civil Engineer

We help clients in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware turn land into well-engineered, permittable, buildable projects. As a Civil Engineer you will own site design and approvals from concept through construction so private developers, municipalities, and utility-scale solar clients meet schedule, budget, and regulatory goals. Your work is the difference between a stalled application and a project that gets built.

Performance Objectives

• Deliver complete site plans, grading, stormwater, utilities, and roadway designs for commercial, residential, and PV projects that obtain first-cycle or second-cycle municipal and NJDEP/PADEP/DNREC approvals.
• Prepare and defend permit packages (stormwater, wetlands, flood hazard, sewer, water) so clients receive approvals on the committed timeline.
• Lead feasibility studies and due-diligence reports that give owners a clear go/no-go and cost picture within two weeks of kickoff.
• Coordinate with surveyors, environmental scientists, and contractors so construction documents match field conditions and reduce RFIs and change orders.
• Provide construction-phase support—shop drawing review, site inspection, and contract administration—so projects close out on time and within budget.
• Mentor junior staff on AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow, HydroCAD, and local ordinance interpretation so the team scales without quality drop.

Environment & Resources

You report to a Principal and work in a 11–50 person firm based in Haddonfield, NJ, with projects across NJ, PA, and DE. You will have Civil 3D, stormwater modeling software, GIS, and direct access to licensed PEs who specialize in site, utility, transportation, and municipal work. Project managers and principals handle client relationships; you own the engineering product.

Essential Qualifications

• PE license in NJ, PA, or DE (or ability to obtain within 6 months) and 4+ years of land-development civil design.
• Proven record of producing approvable site plans, SWM reports, and utility designs for commercial, residential, or solar projects.
• Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and at least one stormwater model (HydroCAD, Hydraflow, or equivalent).
• Experience preparing and presenting to planning boards, zoning boards, and environmental agencies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet client and agency deadlines without sacrificing technical quality.
