About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Land Surveying Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys, as well as experience preparing plats, construction as-builts, and legal descriptions. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team, manage projects, and provide technical leadership within the Survey Department.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Surveys, Plats of Subdivision, Plats of Easement, and Construction As-builts
- Write and review legal descriptions and related documentation
- Manage and coordinate survey projects from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Oversee, guide, and mentor survey staff; provide technical assistance and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and project budgets
- Maintain communication with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project success
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal surveying regulations and standards
Qualifications
- Licensed SIT or PLS in the State of Illinois (required)
- Minimum of 5 years of professional land surveying experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong knowledge of survey principles, practices, and legal requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage clients and projects effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license required
