Commissioning Technician / Field Engineer – Commercial AV Systems

Location: Monmouth County, New Jersey


About the Role

We are looking for a Commissioning Technician and Field Engineer to support the final stages of commercial AV system delivery. In this hands-on role, you will configure, test, and validate integrated audiovisual systems across corporate, municipal, educational, and institutional environments.

You will work closely with installation and engineering teams to bring systems online, ensure performance meets specifications, and provide a smooth handoff to the client. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys fieldwork, problem solving, and working directly with end users during system demonstrations and trainings.


What You’ll Do

  • Commission and test Crestron, Biamp, Q-SYS, DSP, and control systems
  • Verify and troubleshoot audio, video, and networked AV signal paths
  • Close out installation punch lists in coordination with engineering and field teams
  • Conduct system demos, end user training, and client handoff sessions
  • Provide detailed field feedback to support continuous design and process improvement
  • Document commissioning results, settings, and system changes for final project records


What You’ll Bring

  • 3 or more years of commercial AV integration or field engineering experience
  • Strong familiarity with DSP programming, control logic, and AV network configuration
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently in real time
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and customer interaction skills
  • Ability to work independently in client-facing environments
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
