Service Engineer – Commercial Audio Visual Field Service and Support

Location: Monmouth County, New Jersey


About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Service Engineer to support and troubleshoot commercial audiovisual systems across a wide range of client environments. In this field-based role, you will diagnose system issues, restore functionality, and ensure installed systems continue to perform at a high level.

You will work closely with the Service Coordinator to plan service visits, document resolutions, and maintain clear communication with clients. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem solving, and directly helping clients get the most out of their AV systems.


What You’ll Do

  • Review incoming service tickets and develop effective troubleshooting plans
  • Diagnose and repair audio, video, control, and AV over IP systems
  • Configure and tune DSP and control platforms such as Biamp, Q-SYS, BSS, and Crestron
  • Verify inputs, outputs, logic, gain structure, and system integrity for optimal performance
  • Document all service visits, communicate clearly with clients, and close tickets promptly
  • Coordinate RMAs, warranty claims, and vendor support when necessary
  • Provide field feedback to help improve future designs and installations


What You’ll Bring

  • At least 3 years of experience in commercial AV field service, system support, or commissioning
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills across DSPs, control systems, and unified communication platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret signal flow, diagnose failures, and perform proper terminations and testing
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach to service
  • Strong documentation habits and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
