Pre-Sales Engineer / AV Estimator – Commercial Audiovisual Systems

About the Role

We’re seeking a driven Pre-Sales Engineer / AV Estimator who thrives at the intersection of technology and client experience. You’ll work with our commercial sales and engineering teams to design impactful audiovisual systems: boardrooms, classrooms, houses of worship, corporate facilities, and more. Build detailed proposals that reflect both precision and innovation.

In this role, you’ll help clients across a wide range of industries—from healthcare and government to retail and hospitality, bring their vision to life through tailored AV solutions. The ideal candidate is technically strong, customer-centric, and ready to contribute to a company with a reputation for service excellence and cutting-edge AV integration.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with sales to craft comprehensive designs, proposals, equipment lists, and supporting documentation for sophisticated AV projects.
• Design and specify audio, video, control, and AV-over-IP systems, leveraging the latest technologies such as video walls, digital signage, live streaming, conferencing, and sound reinforcement.
• Interpret architectural drawings, mark up signal-flow diagrams, and produce clear documents for hand-off to engineering and field teams.
• Work with engineering and project teams to ensure design accuracy, compliance with standards, and seamless execution.
• Stay current with industry trends, manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Extron, etc.), and new AV applications in markets such as healthcare simulation labs, government chambers, and educational facilities.
• Support sales efforts with client presentations, on-site system surveys, and technical previews to help clients envision their future AV environments.
• Contribute to a culture of service excellence, become part of a team committed to quality, warranty support, and long-term client satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in commercial AV system design, estimating, or sales engineering.
• Strong understanding of DSPs, amplifiers, control systems, AV-over-IP, and low-voltage infrastructure.
• Ability to read, interpret, and annotate schematics, drawings, and signal-flow diagrams.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, able to work with sales, engineering, and clients.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• AV manufacturer certifications or experience with brand-specific systems is a plus.
• Passion for providing exceptional customer experience and technical leadership.
