About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Technical Supervisor to lead our field technical team, oversee installations, and ensure AV / system integration projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. You’ll split your time between supervising others and working directly on technical tasks such as wiring, configuration, and troubleshooting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leadership but still likes to stay close to the technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor AV installation technicians: assign tasks, monitor performance, and support professional development.
- Oversee project installations from pre-construction through commissioning: wiring, rack builds, control/interface setup, testing, and handover.
- Troubleshoot complex technical problems in the field (hardware, control systems, networking).
- Act as the escalation point for client issues; ensure customer concerns are addressed quickly and effectively.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including red-lines and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate tools, materials, and equipment to support successful installations.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, and Production teams to align on scope, schedules, and resources.
- Enforce and promote health & safety policies on all job sites.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to update processes, tools, and standards.
- Travel to job sites as required; occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3–5+ years of AV / systems integration or related technical experience, with some supervisory or lead role responsibilities.
- Strong technical foundation: system wiring, control system interfaces, configuration, and basic networking.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, able to work effectively with teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel locally and regionally.
- AV certifications (CTS, CTS-I, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, etc.) are a strong asset.
