Commercial Audio Visual Drafting / Design Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a Commercial Audio Visual Drafting and Design Engineer who enjoys bringing technology concepts to life through clear, accurate documentation. In this role, you will create drawings, diagrams, and design packages that guide the successful installation of integrated audiovisual systems across corporate, municipal, educational, and institutional environments.
This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable working between engineering and field teams to ensure every system is designed and documented correctly.
What You’ll Do
- Produce system drawings, signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, and documentation packages for commercial AV projects
- Design audio, video, control, and AV over IP systems with precision and consistency
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, and installation teams throughout the design and execution phases
- Review your own work to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with project timelines
- Provide technical clarification and support to field technicians during installation and commissioning
- Maintain familiarity with the latest AV standards, practices, and system design trends
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in AV system design, integration, or a related low voltage technical field
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Visio, or similar drafting tools
- Strong understanding of AV signal flow, control systems, audio processing, and structured cabling
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to produce clean, professional drawings
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
