About the Role
Our client is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives within its Event Staging division. This role focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities, building executive-level relationships, and expanding the organization’s presence among corporate clients, associations, and major institutions.
This is a senior sales leadership position suited for a highly driven business development professional who thrives on prospecting, relationship building, and closing complex opportunities with large organizations.
The role requires a strategic thinker who can translate client needs into compelling value propositions while helping guide the organization’s long-term growth strategy.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Strategic Business Development
- Identify and pursue new corporate and association clients to expand the company’s event staging business
- Develop and execute strategies to generate qualified opportunities and expand the client base
- Build long-term relationships with senior decision-makers and key stakeholders
Executive Sales & Client Engagement
- Deliver executive-level presentations and lead negotiations with senior leadership within large organizations
- Develop customized value propositions that align services with client objectives
- Maintain strong engagement with prospects throughout the full sales cycle
Market Growth & Positioning
- Monitor industry trends and market opportunities to support strategic growth initiatives
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
- Promote a high-quality brand presence with clients, partners, and the broader industry
Sales Planning & Forecasting
- Develop annual business plans including pipeline forecasts, target prospects, and growth strategies
- Maintain accurate projections related to sales activity, pipeline performance, and opportunity conversion
- Follow company sales standards regarding activity levels, new business opportunities, and key account development
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams including Account Executives, Sales Managers, Operations, and Production leadership
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials, sponsorship initiatives, and promotional strategies
- Support initiatives related to emerging business opportunities including esports-related projects
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 5–10 years of experience in technology sales or business development
- Proven success developing new business relationships and generating new revenue opportunities
- Experience selling into large organizations including Fortune 2000 companies and major institutions
- Strong executive-level presentation and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated experience managing CRM systems and sales activity tracking tools
- Ability to develop and execute strategic marketing and social media initiatives that support new business growth
- Exceptional networking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
- Self-driven professional capable of operating autonomously in a dynamic environment
- Ability to collaborate across departments and represent the organization at industry events
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required
