Position Overview

A high-end, full-service dental laboratory in Calgary is seeking an experienced Senior Dental Ceramist to join its advanced laboratory team. This role is ideal for a ceramist with a strong artistic eye, deep technical expertise, and a passion for creating highly aesthetic, functional ceramic restorations across complex restorative cases.

The Senior Ceramist will play a critical role in delivering premium results for interdisciplinary dentistry, working closely with technicians, designers, and clinical partners to ensure exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate high-quality ceramic restorations, including crowns, bridges, veneers, and implant-supported prosthetics
  • Apply advanced ceramic layering techniques to achieve natural tooth morphology and lifelike aesthetics
  • Perform contouring, staining, and glazing to meet both functional and cosmetic standards
  • Collaborate with technicians and designers to ensure accurate case interpretation and execution
  • Evaluate cases for quality, fit, occlusion, and aesthetics prior to final delivery
  • Maintain consistency in shade matching, surface texture, and anatomical detail
  • Adhere to established quality control standards and turnaround expectations
  • Support continuous improvement of ceramic techniques, workflows, and materials
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace in compliance with health and safety standards

Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Dental Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Dental Ceramist (senior-level experience preferred)
  • Strong expertise in ceramic layering, staining, glazing, and finishing
  • Experience working with zirconia, lithium disilicate, and porcelain restorations
  • Excellent eye for aesthetics, color harmony, and natural tooth anatomy
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
  • Familiarity with digital workflows and CAD/CAM systems is an asset
  • Clear communication skills and a professional, team-oriented mindset
