In-House Dental Lab Technician / Lab Manager

Location: Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada

Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 CAD, depending on experience

About the Opportunity

A large, growing dental office in beautiful Kelowna, BC is seeking an experienced In-House Dental Lab Technician / Lab Manager to run and manage its small internal dental laboratory.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled Crown & Bridge technician who enjoys working closely with dentists and patients, wants more direct involvement in treatment planning, and is looking for a stable, long-term role in one of Canada’s most desirable and scenic areas.

The lab supports a busy dental practice with approximately 8–10 dentists, each working three 12-hour shifts. The technician will be the primary person responsible for the in-house lab and will work closely with the clinical team to ensure high-quality, timely case completion.

Key Responsibilities

The In-House Dental Lab Technician / Lab Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day workflow of the small in-house lab, including:

  • Scanning and designing Crown & Bridge cases using CAD/CAM technology
  • Sending digital cases to outsourced milling centers
  • Finishing cases as needed, including custom staining and glazing
  • Taking custom shades and assisting with esthetic case planning
  • Being available for chairside appointments with dentists and patients
  • Supporting treatment planning with both patients and doctors
  • Managing case deadlines and ensuring timely completion
  • Communicating clearly with dentists, clinical staff, and outside milling partners
  • Maintaining organization, quality control, and lab workflow
  • Working as a team player within the dental office environment

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have strong Crown & Bridge experience and be comfortable working independently in a small in-house lab setting. This person should be organized, reliable, clinically minded, and able to interact professionally with both dentists and patients.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Dental Lab Technician, preferably with strong Crown & Bridge experience
  • Ability to scan and design CAD/CAM Crown & Bridge cases
  • Experience with digital dental design software such as Exocad, 3Shape, or similar preferred
  • Ability to custom stain and glaze restorations
  • Strong shade-taking skills
  • Comfortable working chairside with dentists and patients
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Prior experience in an in-house dental lab or close collaboration with a dental clinic is a plus
