Scope and General Purpose of the Job:  

This is a hands-on role which involves daily duty management (DM) /manager on duty (MOD)shifts to assist the Hotel Manager on a daily basis to ensure the hotel is operating in a highly professional and effective manner.

The role is responsible to ensure that each department team are operating in accordance with the hotel operating standards as laid down by the hotel management and to that of an international five-star resort property.

To assist in ensuring that the business plans, budgets, and sales & marketing plan, service standards are being followed by each department on shift in order to achieve budget profits for the year. To maximise revenue by effective management an support of the hotel’s operations on shift.

To have a Collaborative team role with all management and department head of the hotel to ensure the effective smooth running of the Sheen Falls Lodge at all times.

Key responsibilities:

  • To work as part of the management team, working shifts including early and late shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • To have an in-depth understanding of 5* service standards and Company policies & procedures and to ensure the SOPs are adhered to on daily basis.
  • To oversee daily activities within the hotel.
  • To ensure that all customers are receiving the best customer service and care and that any complaints are dealt with timely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • To work closely with the Departmental Managers and provide support in the operation of the hotel.

 Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a busy 4*/5* star Hotel environment.
  • A hotel and catering management qualification or a management programme apprenticeship is required. 
  • Previous experience in hospitality with front office, guest services and food and beverage department experience, all being essential.
  • Must possess excellent guest service skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have a full driver’s license.
  • Must have fluent English both oral and written and full legal status to work in Ireland.
