We are excited to invite a General Manager to join our Madison Avenue Beauty Store. This position leads and inspires the organization to elevate the experience of a demanding niche clientele. This requires a keen focus on detail, refined sense of style and a complete understanding of innovative products that shape the makeup industry.
Reporting to Executors of Kimara Ahnert, the General Manager will oversee all revenue and strategic planning, with a focus on product placement and overall profitability, deepening relationships with key customers and industry players, and ensuring a healthy insight into growth opportunities, and continued innovation of the business’ product portfolio. He/she will own the P&L responsibility for the portfolio of products and partner with ownership and senior leadership to ensure the financial objectives of the business are met. As a people leader, the GM will develop a team that will meet and beat sales goals, with a mindset of ownership and accountability. He/she will champion professional development and career growth within the team and create a customer centric culture throughout the business.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate the long-term business and growth strategy and recommendations for growth initiatives; gain team buy-in and leadership approval, and execute against the strategy;
- Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and other key financial performance objectives;
- Establish annual operating plans, budgets, capital appropriations, and human capital plans to assure the most productive utilization of human, financial and capital resources. Drive financial results, manage costs, and maintain/increase business profitability;
- Oversee management of all personnel
- Lead financial management, including payroll, accounting, and budgeting
- Direct all inventory planning, ordering, and pricing to optimize profitability
- Serve as primary liaison to senior management with business reporting, insight and challenges.
- Oversee vendor relationships and negotiate all major contracts
- Develop and execute marketing Plan with an emphasis on Public Relations
- Drive strategic partnerships and new business development initiatives
- Ensure all operations align with brand standards and business objectives
- Oversee all buying, including store supplies, backbar, and retail inventory
- Complete all end-of-month and annual reporting, forecasting, and business number preparation for audits
- Plan and execute promotions and special events
- Act as HR liaison for all employees; troubleshoot and resolve employee issues and concerns

- Excellent people skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff, clients, and vendors at all levels
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online Payroll, POS software, bank reconciliation, and Microsoft Excel
Education: Bachelor Degree
Experience: Over 5 years experience in Retail Management, Procurement and/or Cosmetic Services
NYC/ Hybrid: Makeup Studio / Retail Store and Service (Madison Avenue)
3 days in store / 2 WFH or more if the needs of business require it.
Limited off-site travel required.
Salary: $90,000 to $110,000 depending on experience
