Senior Women's Apparel Designer - Lifestyle/Streetwear Brand - LA
Lead the design of our non-denim categories. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in women’s fashion design with at least 8+ years of experience, and expertise across knit tops, tees, sweaters, dresses, jackets/outerwear, with a foundational understanding of performance wear. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires excellent design skills, a deep understanding of garment construction, and the ability to translate business insights into trend-right, customer-focused products.
- Design and develop women’s non-denim product lines, including tees, tops, sweaters, dresses, and jackets/outerwear, with basic integration of performance features when necessary.
- Lead the design process from concept through final sample, including trend research, sketching, CADs, fabric and trim selection, fittings, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Mentor, manage, and inspire a small team of associate or assistant designers to elevate overall design quality and team output.
- Attend fittings and make confident, timely decisions based on garment construction and pattern knowledge.
- Create detailed and visually compelling CADs and technical sketches using Adobe Illustrator.
- Collaborate closely with merchandising, production, tech design, and overseas vendors to ensure design intent is maintained through development and into production.
- Analyze sales data and historical performance to inform and guide design decisions and assortment planning.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of artwork techniques and applications, and how they apply to seasonal storytelling.
- Manage design timelines to ensure deadlines are met in alignment with the company calendar and production schedules.
- Stay up to date with market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to ensure relevant and forward-thinking designs.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in women’s apparel design, with a focus on non-denim categories.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and developing design team members
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, patterns, fittings, and design process from concept to production.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and experience using PLM systems, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong ability to sketch detailed CADs and communicate design intent visually and verbally.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret sales data and apply it to design strategy.
- Willingness to learn new software/tools as needed and adapt to evolving business needs.
- Passionate, collaborative, and solutions-oriented team player.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in both corporate and fast-paced, trend-driven environments.
- Background in lifestyle or streetwear brands is a plus.
- Understanding of performance fabrications and garment treatments.
Salary: $100 - $130K, Full Benefits detailed upon interview process
