Associate Designer, Swim & Coverups
We are seeking a creative, and detail-oriented Associate Designer to support the development of innovative and trend-forward swimwear collections. This role will collaborate closely with the Design & Merchandising leadership Director to bring seasonal concepts to life—from initial inspiration through final production. The ideal candidate has an understanding of swim construction, fabrications, fit, and market trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of seasonal swimwear collections from concept to production.
- Research trends, colors, prints, fabrics, trims, and competitive market analysis.
- Create and revise technical flats, CADs, and detailed design sketches.
- Develop and maintain tech packs in YPLM
- Build and keep seasonal line sheets current
- Communicate design intent for development sampling, including construction details, trim, and color information.
- Assist during fit sessions by taking notes and updating corrections.
- Review and comment on samples, proto rounds, and fit samples as needed.
- Participate in seasonal line reviews and presentations.
- Support fabric and trim sourcing efforts.
- Prepare materials for design meetings and seasonal presentations.
- Maintain organized design boards, sample racks, and digital files.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in fashion design; swimwear experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of swim construction, stretch fabrics, lining, elastics, and fit requirements.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.
- Understanding of garment construction and the technical design process.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Salary Range
$55,000 - $65,000 dependent on experience
