Account Manager – Western Carolinas (Remote)

Our client is a value-added wholesale distributor of water and wastewater infrastructure products serving the municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential markets. The company is experiencing continued growth and is well positioned to leverage its expertise, relationships, and product portfolio to expand further. They are seeking an experienced Account Manager to cover the western regions of North and South Carolina. The organization represents leading manufacturers in the industry and is known for strong customer service and efficient, innovative processes.

This is a strong opportunity for a sales professional who enjoys relationship-based selling and providing technical solutions to customers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and manage existing relationships with consulting engineers, municipal utilities, contractors, developers, and other purchasing decision-makers within the assigned territory
  • Partner with engineers and owners to develop solutions for collection system improvements, including pressure sewer systems and lift station technologies
  • Coordinate with manufacturing partners to meet customer needs
  • Prepare quotations, secure orders, and submit supporting documentation
  • Provide product submittals, training, and service support
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure a high level of customer service from order entry through payment
  • Travel throughout the assigned North and South Carolina territory, including occasional overnight stays, using a personal vehicle


Background Profile

  • Strong sales drive with a customer-focused mindset
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience selling pumps, mechanical systems, or related infrastructure products
  • Understanding of municipal, commercial, and industrial sales cycles
  • Existing relationships with consulting engineers, municipalities, or contractors preferred
  • Experience within wholesale distribution
  • Ability to balance technical knowledge with relationship-driven selling


Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of outside sales experience in a mechanical, infrastructure, or related field
  • Home-based in Western South Carolina
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license


Compensation

  • $60,000 base salary
  • Commission plan
  • Mileage and business expense reimbursement
