Director of Sales - Commercial HVAC

Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer


Position Overview

We are partnering with a growing commercial mechanical services contractor to hire a Director of Commercial Sales. This leader will own revenue growth across Preventive Maintenance, Service, and select New Install work, while building a repeatable, scalable commercial sales engine. This role is hands-on and strategic, with direct responsibility for pipeline creation, deal execution, and long-term client relationships.


The organization operates within the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), providing clear structure, accountability, and disciplined execution across teams.


What You'll Own

  • Build and lead the commercial sales function across PM, service, and targeted project work.
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy aligned with margin, capacity, and operational goals.
  • Create a predictable pipeline of qualified, executable opportunities.
  • Personally drive key deals from initial pursuit through close and handoff to operations.
  • Strengthen relationships with GCs, property managers, and building owners.
  • Partner closely with operations and estimating to ensure clean handoffs and profitable execution.
  • Establish disciplined sales processes, forecasting, and CRM usage to support scale.


What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

  • Drive meaningful, profitable revenue growth across service, PM, and select projects.
  • Establish a healthy backlog of executable work to support future quarters.
  • Maintain strong gross margins through disciplined selling and scope control.
  • Build repeat business and referral momentum through high client satisfaction.



Background Profile

Business Development & Sales Leadership

  • Existing network with GCs, property managers, and owner-direct relationships.
  • Proven ability to source, qualify, advance, and close commercial HVAC opportunities.
  • Strategic seller who balances scope, pricing, and delivery against margin and capacity.


Technical & Commercial Acumen

  • Deep commercial HVAC fluency with several years of experience selling service, PM, and project work.
  • Strong command of scoping and pricing across service agreements through large project work.
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into clear business value for clients.


Execution & Accountability

  • Metrics-driven approach to pipeline health, close rates, margins, and cash flow.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership with operations and estimating.
  • Continuous improvement mindset around sales process, CRM discipline, and estimating inputs.



Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ($150K–$200K, depending on experience)
  • Performance-based profit sharing tied to division P&L
