We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established medical device manufacturer in Hawthorne, CA specializing in high-precision orthopedic implants and surgical components. This ISO-certified facility produces life-saving medical devices with the highest quality standards.


Position Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled CNC Mill Operator to join their precision manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge medical technology in a stable, quality-focused environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes and milling machines to manufacture precision parts
  • Perform CNC programming and CAM programming for various machining tasks
  • Utilize GD&T principles to ensure parts meet design specifications
  • Conduct electrical discharge machining when required
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions
  • Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues
  • Collaborate with team members to improve manufacturing processes through lean manufacturing principles
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools for assembly and fabrication tasks
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment


Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of CNC milling machine experience
  • Minimum 1 year of CNC lathe experience
  • Proven experience as a machinist with a strong understanding of machining processes
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, CAD software, SolidWorks, and CAM programming is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and tooling techniques
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tasks
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be willing to work mandatory overtime
  • Ability to commute to Hawthorne, CA 90250 (Required)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device, aerospace, or precision manufacturing background
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Familiarity with Fanuc controls
  • Experience with welding is a plus
  • Ability to operate forklifts safely is preferred
  • Experience with tight tolerance work
