Your Impact As a Broadcast Operations Support Specialist, you'll be the technical backbone ensuring seamless broadcast delivery to a nationwide audience. You'll troubleshoot complex systems spanning IT infrastructure, broadcast engineering, and studio operations - solving problems that keep content flowing without interruption. This is where broadcast expertise meets enterprise IT in a fast-paced, 24/7 live production environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain broadcast systems, servers, and studio equipment across 24/7 operations to achieve zero-downtime performance standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for on-site and remote studio users, addressing audio/video routing, network connectivity, and endpoint problems within SLA timeframes
  • Install and configure firmware updates, software patches, and system upgrades for broadcast-specific hardware and virtual server infrastructure
  • Diagnose equipment failures using system logs, signal flow documentation, and network analysis tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, Wireshark) to isolate root causes
  • Document incidents in ServiceNow ticketing system and communicate status updates to management, engineering teams, and affected users
  • Implement broadcast technology projects including system installations, network deployments, and workflow improvements
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including signal flow diagrams, network schematics, and equipment configurations using AutoCAD/Visio
  • Collaborate with Tier 3 Subject Matter Experts on complex escalations involving virtual infrastructure, satellite downlink systems, and media encoding platforms


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years hands-on technical experience in broadcast facilities, media production environments, or live content operations
  • Strong knowledge of both Windows and Linux server administration, including troubleshooting and configuration
  • Proven experience with networking fundamentals: routers, switches, firewalls, and TCP/IP troubleshooting
  • Broadcast technology familiarity including audio/video routing systems, studio consoles, or playout equipment
  • ServiceNow or similar ticketing system experience for incident management
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work safely on ladders in equipment rooms and studios
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 facility
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship


Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree in Broadcast Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline
  • Experience with virtual infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V) and data center environments
  • Familiarity with broadcast equipment manufacturers (Evertz, Telos, LAWO) and media encoding systems
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation and system management
