Job Title: Full-time Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)


Location: Morrow County, OR


Salary Range: $29.49 To $41.74 Hourly


Shift: Rotating 4x10 hours shifts M-Th then Tue-Fri (6am to 4:30pm or 5pm-5:30pm with some changes and flexibility) in order to try to give techs a 4 day weekend every other weekend, with shared call after-hours, evenings, weekends and holidays to provide 24/7 laboratory coverage. Consideration can be made if techs prefer 5x 8 hour shifts. Call back time is return to lab within 20 minutes.


Job Summary: This position performs a broad range of laboratory testing and specimen collection functions in a rural critical access setting serving both inpatient and outpatient populations.


Job Description: 

  • Perform laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood bank.
  • Collect blood specimens and perform phlebotomy procedures.
  • Process, analyze, and report laboratory results accurately and promptly.
  • Perform quality control procedures and instrument maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and testing issues.
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and facility policies.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours laboratory coverage.
  • Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to support patient care.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related laboratory science program.
  • Meets CLIA ‘88 requirements for testing personnel for blood banking, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis.
  • Current ASCP certification as MLT (or equivalent certification preferred).
  • Ability to work independently in a small rural hospital environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
