Summary
Responsible for accurate payroll processing, payroll analysis, and administration of retirement and benefit plans while supporting compliance, reporting, and employee inquiries
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate onboarding and payroll setup for new hires
- Verify termination pay and final payments for accuracy and compliance
- Administer payroll taxes in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Review employee timecards for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with timely and accurate payroll processing, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and garnishments
- Administer and track leave of absence activity and related payments
- Prepare payroll, benefits, and demographic analyses and reports
- Reconcile and analyze general ledger transactions related to payroll
- Support pension contribution changes and benefits provider payments and reconciliations
- Assist with audits, ad hoc reporting, and ongoing process improvements in partnership with HR and Finance
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience supporting payroll processing and payroll-related accounting
- Working knowledge of payroll regulations, including multi-state compliance
- Strong Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and formulas
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy
- Customer-first mindset with the ability to support employee inquiries
- Adaptable and able to manage changing priorities
