Summary
The Payroll and HCM Consultant supports clients by delivering accurate payroll processing, system support, and project-based consulting services. This role helps improve workflows, assist with system implementations, and contribute to high-quality client experiences while growing broader consulting expertise.
Responsibilities
• Build collaborative relationships to understand client payroll and HCM needs
• Support senior consultants through project lifecycles and independently manage smaller workstreams
• Assist with system implementations through testing, data validation, configuration support, and go-live activities
• Prepare and maintain project plans, documentation, and deliverables
• Process end-to-end payroll, including audits, adjustments, and multi-state tax validation
• Support payroll assessments by gathering data, reviewing processes, and identifying improvement opportunities
• Provide hands-on HCM system support, with Paylocity strongly preferred
• Troubleshoot and escalate payroll or system issues as needed
• Contribute to proposals, SOW scope, and level-of-effort estimates
• Participate in internal initiatives that enhance tools, processes, and service offerings
• Support Willory’s visibility through partner and community engagement
Qualifications and Skills
• 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience
• Experience with HCM systems, preferably Paylocity
• Strong payroll fundamentals, compliance knowledge, and year-end experience
• Data validation, reconciliation, and reporting experience
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort with data analysis
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
