Summary
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing accurate payroll processing, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements while providing responsive support to employees and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll end-to-end across multiple states accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations
- Reconcile payroll data, deductions, and benefit contributions for accuracy
- Administer special payroll runs including bonuses, commissions, and separation payments
- Conduct payroll audits and recommend process enhancements
- Partner with HR and Finance to resolve payroll issues and support cross-functional projects
- Assist with payroll system updates, reporting, and system conversions or implementations
- Provide responsive support to employees regarding payroll inquiries
- Support related HR and benefits administration tasks as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- 5–7 years of payroll experience in multi-state environments
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, compliance, and auditing
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem-solving, process improvement, and customer service skills

$33-35/hour
