Payroll Specialist (Part-Time)

Summary

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing accurate payroll processing, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements while providing responsive support to employees and internal teams.


Responsibilities

  • Process payroll end-to-end across multiple states accurately and on time
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations
  • Reconcile payroll data, deductions, and benefit contributions for accuracy
  • Administer special payroll runs including bonuses, commissions, and separation payments
  • Conduct payroll audits and recommend process enhancements
  • Partner with HR and Finance to resolve payroll issues and support cross-functional projects
  • Assist with payroll system updates, reporting, and system conversions or implementations
  • Provide responsive support to employees regarding payroll inquiries
  • Support related HR and benefits administration tasks as needed


Qualifications and Skills

  • 5–7 years of payroll experience in multi-state environments
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, compliance, and auditing
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong problem-solving, process improvement, and customer service skills


Salary

$33-35/hour
