Compensation: $27 - $30 / hour


The Payroll Coordinator is an integral member of the payroll team, responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll for all associates in a union and non-union environment. This role requires a strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.


As a Payroll Coordinator, you will:

  • Serve as a key resource for payroll processing, managing weekly non-exempt and bi-weekly exempt payrolls through ADP
  • Support associate recordkeeping accuracy, including new hires, rehires, terminations, and status changes such as position, department, location, rate, and union affiliation
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to respond promptly and professionally to associate inquiries regarding paycheck accuracy, deductions, direct deposits, and leave accruals
  • Manage WOTC submissions and Union Health & Welfare billing
  • Lead payroll reporting efforts and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Execute proper calculation and remittance of federal, state, and local taxes, inclusive of Social Security contributions, benefit deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related items
  • Prepare and remit retirement plan files to applicable providers
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, calculation issues, or submission errors in a timely manner


As a Payroll Coordinator, you have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of payroll experience
  • Hands-on experience with ADP
  • An in-depth understanding of payroll administration, including applicable laws and regulations, particularly in Ohio and Illinois
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels
  • A high level of proficiency in Excel or similar workbooks
  • Demonstrated discretion, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • A High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field
  • Prior experience working with labor unions
  • Ability to provide remote payroll support to Chicago-based facilities


Work Location: This position follows a hybrid schedule — three (3) days onsite at the corporate office, and two (2) days remote.

Qualified candidates must be located in the greater Cleveland, Ohio area.

 

Placement Type: Direct Hire

Estimated Schedule: Full-time | 40 hours per week | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
