Dispatcher – Liquids

Pay: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour (based on experience)

Description
We are seeking a Dispatcher – Liquids to oversee the daily execution of planned liquid waste transportation activities. This role ensures smooth operations by monitoring driver progress, resolving issues in real time, and maintaining clear communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams. The Dispatcher’s primary focus is on same-day execution of the plan developed by the Logistics Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Execution
- Monitor daily routes and driver activity in real time; make proactive adjustments.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all Liquid drivers.
- Partner with the Logistics Coordinator to address same-day emergencies, ensuring drivers are prepared and customers are updated.
- Maintain awareness of daily/weekly plans and flag disruptions that could impact scheduling.
- Reinforce DOT-compliant, safe driving practices while minimizing service failures.
- Update task boards, Excel docs, service notes, FileMaker calendar, and shared systems with real-time changes.
Communication & Coordination
- Direct inbound calls to the correct department quickly and professionally.
- Resolve daily driver issues (e.g., blocked access, incorrect locations), escalating serious concerns to the Operations Manager/Logistics Coordinator.
- Notify the Logistics Coordinator of customer-related concerns and collaborate on appropriate responses.
Documentation & Reporting
- Review, verify, organize, and log all driver paperwork before billing handoff.
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting using standardized methods.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Who You Are
- Prior dispatching and routing experience preferred (service industry a plus).
- Knowledge of multi-stop/milk run routing is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
- Composure under pressure, with customer- and team-facing professionalism.
- Familiar with DOT rules and regulations.
- Comfortable with office administration and standard office equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and troubleshoot issues quickly.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
