Lead Technician (Diesel Mechanic)

Location: Bryan / College Station, TX | Work Type: In-Person | Pay: $31/hr+ (based on experience) with full benefits

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Lead Technician, your day-to-day will include:

• Leading preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs across the fleet
• Diagnosing issues on Class 8 trucks using electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
• Guiding technicians through complex repairs and component replacements
• Training new hires on shop procedures and maintenance software
• Performing quality control audits on completed work to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Supporting shop operations in the absence of the supervisor, including workload triage and work order assignment
• Conducting failure analysis and contributing to root cause investigations
• Managing parts requisition and maintaining accurate repair documentation
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment

What You Bring:

• 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience
• At least 1 year of experience in the waste industry
• Strong diagnostic skills across electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
• Ability to lead, train, and support other technicians
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong time management and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Texas Class B CDL
• Clean driving record over the past five years

Required Licenses & Certifications:

• Valid Class C Driver’s License
• Safe driving record for the past three years
• Completion of at least 3 of the following - DOT Inspector License, ASE Certifications (T1–T8), OEM Certifications (Cummins, Mack, Paccar, Allison, etc.), Mack Technician Level A Training, Meritor Bullpen and Stemco Curriculum
