Lead Technician (Diesel Mechanic)
Location: Bryan / College Station, TX | Work Type: In-Person | Pay: $31/hr+ (based on experience) with full benefits

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Lead Technician, your day-to-day will include:
- Leading preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs across the fleet
- Diagnosing issues on Class 8 trucks using electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
- Guiding technicians through complex repairs and component replacements
- Training new hires on shop procedures and maintenance software
- Performing quality control audits on completed work to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Supporting shop operations in the absence of the supervisor, including workload triage and work order assignment
- Conducting failure analysis and contributing to root cause investigations
- Managing parts requisition and maintaining accurate repair documentation
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience
- At least 1 year of experience in the waste industry
- Strong diagnostic skills across electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to lead, train, and support other technicians
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Texas Class B CDL
- Clean driving record over the past five years
Required Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid Class C Driver’s License
- Safe driving record for the past three years
- Completion of at least 3 of the following - DOT Inspector License, ASE Certifications (T1–T8), OEM Certifications (Cummins, Mack, Paccar, Allison, etc.), Mack Technician Level A Training, Meritor Bullpen and Stemco Curriculum
