We are currently searching for a Technician III who will perform maintenance tasks for company assets and assist maintenance staff with overhauling minor components and installing replacements, with electrical, hydraulic and computer diagnostics and with scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance. This position also responds to service and road calls.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform failure analysis and reporting findings to maintenance management.
- Use pressure gauges to perform checks on hydraulic systems (pressure and vacuum) and diagnose faults
- Utilize proprietary engine diagnostic software to identify failed components related to check engine lights or loss of power concerns
- Replace components on unit that require greater expertise to include but not limited to Turbos and EGR Components, External Fuel Components such as Fuel Filter Housings or Fuel Injection Pumps, Differentials, Transmissions, Air Compressors, etc in a timely fashion without come backs
- Audit and Assist in training Tech 1 or 2 as required
- May assist in performance of increasingly more technical repairs to include injectors and cups, camshaft replacement, internal transmission repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance and technical inspections and complete follow up repairs in a timely fashion without come backs
- Participate in root cause analysis
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required.
- Report immediately any safety violations and correcting unsafe acts or conditions.
- Comply with company safety policies and with applicable state and federal regulations.
- May be required to drive a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) not to exceed 26,000 pounds.
- Requisition parts as necessary.
- Maintain repair order documentation to include repair description, parts used and repair times.
- Ensure the work area is clean and neat.
Required Skills and Qualifications Skills:
- 3 or more years of experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to explain troubleshooting procedure for hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components
- Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
- Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate document daily work and progress, track procurements and repair status
- Ability to pay attention to detail and remain alert to ensure safety
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and to communicate with co-workers
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver’s License
- Safe driving record for the past five years
Required Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Safe driving record for the past three years
- Completion of 3 of the following:
- DOT Inspectors License
- ASE Certification in 2 exams T1-T8 (Additional completions count toward additional certification requirements)
- Mack Online Training Path, Technician Level A
- Meritor Bullpen AND Stemco Curriculum
- Allison, McNeilus, Cummins, Mack or Paccar Certification (Additional completions count toward additional certification requirements)
Compensation:
- Pay goes up to $30/hr, depending on the number of years of experience and scheduled shift. Hiring for day and night shifts!
- You’ll be paid weekly, 40 – 55 hours/week. That includes overtime, which is paid at time and a half.
