Kitchen Manager – Salem, OR

Up to $67,000 Base + KPI Bonus | Full-Time | Established Northwest Restaurant Group


We are a well-established, growing restaurant company based in the Pacific Northwest with multiple successful locations and clear expansion plans. We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations at our Salem, Oregon location. This is a key leadership role for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional food quality and team performance.


Position Overview

As Kitchen Manager, you will oversee all back-of-house operations, including food preparation, kitchen staff management, inventory control, and compliance with health and safety standards. You will work closely with the General Manager to drive kitchen efficiency, control costs, and maintain the highest standards of quality and consistency that our guests expect.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, schedule, and develop a team of kitchen staff, including cooks, prep personnel, and dishwashers
  • Ensure consistent execution of menu items, recipes, and food presentation standards
  • Manage food and labor costs through effective ordering, inventory control, and waste reduction
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with front-of-house management to optimize service flow and guest satisfaction
  • Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and cleanliness
  • Support company growth initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of operations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or similar leadership role in a full-service restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices, ServSafe certification preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage kitchen costs, labor, and inventory effectively
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Passion for the restaurant industry and a track record of building high-performing teams

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary up to $67,000 annually, based on experience
