Warehouse Operations Manager

Our client is a well-established steel distributor with approximately 80 employees seeking a hands-on Warehouse Operations Manager to lead daily operations, develop supervisors, and drive a culture focused on safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service.

This role is ideal for someone who understands that in distribution, priorities can change quickly—and customers expect you to deliver.

Responsibilities

• Lead all warehouse and production operations.
• Develop daily production and shipping priorities to meet customer commitments.
• Coach and develop warehouse supervisors and employees.
• Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Transportation, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
• Improve productivity, inventory accuracy, safety, and operational performance.
• Monitor KPIs and implement process improvements.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, labor utilization, and overtime.
• Champion safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the operation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of warehouse, operations, or distribution leadership experience.
• Must have experience in a distribution environment (steel, industrial, building products, MRO, metals, or similar).
• Proven experience leading supervisors and hourly teams.
• Strong background in shipping, receiving, inventory, scheduling, and warehouse operations.
• ERP experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
