Apply for this job

I’m working on a Director-level role leading global engineering programs in a medical device manufacturing environment — and it’s a bit different from most “program management” roles you’ll see.

This isn’t just about timelines and reporting.

This role sits at the intersection of:

  • Injection molding & automated assembly
  • NPI, validation, and product launch
  • Customer-facing program leadership in a CDMO environment

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

  • Lead and scale a global stage-gate / design control process across multiple sites
  • Drive NPI programs from concept through validation and production
  • Partner with Sales, Business Development, and key customers on program strategy and quoting
  • Provide visibility across a portfolio of complex engineering programs
  • Align engineering, quality, and operations to deliver predictable execution
  • Influence technical roadmap, investment decisions, and operational improvements

What This Role Requires (Read This Carefully)

This role is not for a pure PMO leader.

You should have:

  • Deep experience in medical device manufacturing (ISO 13485)
  • Hands-on exposure to injection molding and/or high-volume assembly
  • Experience leading NPI programs involving validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • A track record of working directly with customers on complex programs
  • Strong understanding of tooling, process development, and manufacturing scale-up
  • Experience in contract manufacturing (CDMO) environments is highly preferred

You’ve likely:

  • Come up through Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, or Program Management
  • Led programs where tooling, validation, and production all intersected
  • Had real accountability for delivery, cost, and customer outcomes

Why This Role Stands Out

  • High visibility across a global organization
  • Direct impact on customer success and program execution
  • Opportunity to shape how engineering programs are run across sites
  • Strong alignment between technical execution and business strategy

Additional Details

  • Travel: ~25–50%
  • Location: Boston or Los Angeles Based (Relocation available)
  • Compensation: Competitive base + bonus

Quick Reality Check

If your experience is primarily:

  • Internal project coordination
  • Software or IT program management
  • Non-regulated manufacturing

This likely isn’t the right fit.
