We are currently seeking an experienced Consumer Loan Underwriter for a credit union located in Redlands, CA!

Type: Temp-to-hire

Pay: $28 - $30/hr

Schedule: Part-time 30 hours a week - Saturday 9:00am - 2:00pm required with remaining hours 4 weekdays between the hours of 8:30 AM – 6 PM

Responsibilities:

• Underwriting personal loans, auto loans, and revolving credit.
• Income verification, DTI calculations, and full credit bureau review.
• Applying lending policy, making approve/decline/counter decisions, and documenting credit rationale.
• Use loan origination system MeridianLink.
• Support credit union members with loan requests.
• Use Symitar core system.
• Use instant decision tools (AI or scorecard overlays like Zest, Upstart, etc.)
• Work independently, manage volume, and demonstrate sound credit judgment.

Requirements:

• Symitar & MeridianLink experience highly desired.
• 2 years underwriting consumer loans including auto, credit card, unsecured personal loans.
• Basic knowledge of consumer loan products within a credit union such as credit card and auto loans.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
