The sales organization is experiencing steady growth and is seeking a proven hunter who can accelerate new business development, deepen customer relationships, and expand market presence across key domestic and international lanes. This is a remote role, ideally based in the NY/NJ region to align with customer concentration and inherited account responsibilities.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Drive aggressive new business development across domestic ocean forwarding and 3PL services
  • Leverage and expand existing East Coast national customer accounts previously managed by leadership
  • -Engage customers across enterprise, mid-market, and SMB segments
  • Create urgency and accelerate customer decision-making within slow-moving logistics cycles
  • Identify and grow international opportunities using solid working knowledge of global shipping
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Pricing, and Marketing to design solutions and close deals
  • Manage a pipeline of quick-turn transactional sales and longer enterprise cycles
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and activity reporting
  • Support departmental initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvement

Are you an experienced logistics sales hunter ready to make an impact?

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience in transportation, logistics, LTL, domestic forwarding, or 3PL
  • Proven hunter with a track record of generating new business and growing revenue
  • Experience working with diverse customer types (enterprise, mid-market, SMB)
  • Ability to manage 50+ accounts or a historically large, diverse book of business
  • Working knowledge of international logistics (6–12 months minimum)
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and transportation operations
  • History of success with both transactional and longer-cycle (RFP) sales
  • High competence in communication, negotiation, presentations, and solution selling
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and standard business software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred

Strict Must-Haves (Non-Negotiables)

  • Hunter mentality with documented new business success
  • 5+ years in logistics/transportation/LTL/3PL sales
  • Ability to manage enterprise + mid-market + SMB customers
  • Working knowledge of international freight (minimum 6–12 months)
  • Ability to create urgency and move pipeline forward efficiently
  • Large, diverse historical book of business (ideally 50+ customers)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to sell to multiple buyer types
  • Willingness to travel 30–40%
  • Must reside in or be able to cover the NY/NJ market area

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior sales experience specifically in East Coast markets
  • Experience selling to national retail customers
  • Background from 3PL companies undergoing layoffs
  • Experience building international lanes or expanding global freight programs
  • Exposure to domestic ocean forwarding into Alaska, Hawaii, PR, and Guam
  • Comfort with rapid transactional sales AND long strategic cycles
  • MBA or advanced degree
