What's In Store For You

  • Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)
  • Work model: 100% onsite in Columbus, Indiana
  • Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Some weekend overtime will be required, so weekend availability is essential
  • Opportunity to take ownership of site-level quality improvement initiatives and provide technical guidance across manufacturing operations
  • Exposure to dimensional engineering, automotive quality systems, metrology, process improvement, and customer-facing quality activities

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Lead quality and continuous-improvement initiatives designed to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and manufacturing variation.
  • Support compliance with automotive quality requirements, including IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Apply GD&T principles to dimensional analysis, part validation, and manufacturing-quality investigations.
  • Use metrology and 3D measurement technologies to evaluate product conformance and support root-cause investigations.
  • Lead structured problem-solving efforts using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa analysis.
  • Provide technical support for SPC, MSA, Gage R&R, control plans, and process capability activities.
  • Partner with manufacturing, tooling, engineering, suppliers, and customers to resolve nonconformities and manage product or process changes.
  • Coach less-experienced team members on automotive quality methods, core tools, and disciplined problem-solving practices.

Do You Bring Proven Success in Automotive Quality Engineering and Core Tools?

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Approximately 2–5+ years of manufacturing quality engineering experience, preferably within automotive or similarly regulated high-volume manufacturing.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of GD&T.
  • Practical experience with APQP and PPAP.
  • Working knowledge of VDA FMEA/FMEA methodology.
  • Strong understanding of MSA, Gage R&R, SPC, and control plans.
  • Familiarity with automotive quality systems such as IATF 16949.
  • Experience interpreting dimensional data and working with metrology or measurement systems.
  • Ability to perform structured root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions through closure.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical quality findings to engineering, manufacturing, leadership, and customers.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite and support weekend overtime when needed.

Preferred experience includes:

  • PolyWorks or comparable 3D metrology software.
  • CMM programming or 3D scanning.
  • Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Welding processes or manufacturing-process quality.
  • Design of Experiments.
  • Minitab or advanced Excel statistical analysis.
