How You Will Make An Impact
- Lead process engineering design efforts for water and wastewater treatment facilities, including planning studies, feasibility evaluations, conceptual designs, and detailed engineering.
- Provide technical leadership on treatment processes, including process modeling, hydraulic evaluations, mass balance calculations, and development of design criteria.
- Manage technical scope, schedules, and deliverables for wastewater treatment engineering components.
- Develop and review process documentation, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment specifications, and system layouts.
- Support client engagement through technical presentations, proposal development, and solution recommendations.
- Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, and controls engineering teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers and design staff.
- Support permitting activities, regulatory coordination, construction support, and commissioning efforts.
Do you have the expertise to lead in wastewater treatment engineering?
- Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in water and/or wastewater process engineering within a consulting environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Proven expertise in wastewater treatment process design and optimization.
- Experience with treatment technologies such as activated sludge, biological nutrient removal, membrane bioreactors, filtration, disinfection, and biosolids processes.
- Experience using process modeling tools such as BioWin, GPS-X, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of developing and interpreting PFDs and P&IDs.
- Familiarity with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable tools.
- Strong technical writing, presentation, and client communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, coordinate teams, manage priorities, and mentor technical staff.
- Preferred experience includes a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, BCEE certification, professional organization leadership, and proven business development success.
