How You Will Make An Impact:
- Lead the planning, design, and optimization of wastewater treatment systems across regional projects
- Own the technical delivery of process engineering components, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget alignment
- Perform and oversee process modeling, hydraulic analysis, and mass balance calculations
- Develop design documentation including process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Drive equipment selection and system design across treatment technologies such as biological processes, filtration, and disinfection
- Serve as a technical advisor to clients, presenting solutions and building long-term partnerships
- Contribute to business development efforts including proposals, scope definition, and client engagement
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, strengthening team capability and technical depth
- Collaborate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and controls teams for integrated project delivery
- Support permitting, regulatory compliance, and field activities including site visits and commissioning support
Do you have the expertise to lead in wastewater process engineering and regional project delivery?
- 20+ years of progressive experience in water and/or wastewater process engineering within a consulting environment
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Deep expertise in wastewater treatment process design and system optimization
- Strong proficiency with process modeling tools (e.g., BioWin, GPS-X, WaterCAD, SewerCAD)
- Experience developing PFDs, P&IDs, and detailed engineering documentation
- Familiarity with design platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools
- Proven leadership experience managing complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clients and present technical concepts clearly
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to successful completion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
- BCEE certification or equivalent advanced credential
- Experience across a wide range of treatment technologies (e.g., activated sludge, MBR, BNR, biosolids, disinfection)
- Demonstrated success in business development and client acquisition
- Active involvement in professional organizations (e.g., AWWA, WEF)
- Recognized subject matter expertise in specific treatment technologies
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory frameworks
